Hot Wheels Custom

I recently picked up a Hot Wheels Real Rider.  I was not aware these were a thing and I was excited to pick up a few up.  The models are a different cast of existing cars with better paint and rubber wheel.  I noticed that they had a few different cars in this series and spent the better part of a day tracking down the VW Bus and Truck.  For the Bone Shaker I decided to just repaint the interior and engine and just have a custom car.

Like so many other Hot Wheels the interior and engine were chrome and looked silly.  I decided to take the car apart and stripe the chrome.

While I was painting the interior I decided to paint the rims so they would stand out better on the car.  What I did was airbrushed the rims in a bright silver and than airbrushed them with Ghost Red from Badger.  This gave them a metallic red look and look amazing.

This was a fun project and I am happy with how it turned out.  I never thought I would be someone who re-painted Hot Wheels and now I am.  It is possible that I will re-paint more cars in the future when something catches my attention but for now this is my custom Bone Shaker.
